Youth Mental Health First Aid is a form of Mental Health First Aid training which takes a similar format to the acclaimed Adult training, and uses that to look at the mental health problems which young people may be encountering.
Over the course of two days, participants will take an in-depth look at the problems which may be facing young people within the modern world.
Topics touched on as part of the youth training include:
- What is mental health?
- Depression and Anxiety
- Suicide and Psychosis
- Self-Harm and Eating Disorders
These topics are tackled alongside a look at other prevalent issues faced by young people today – such as cyberbullying and substance abuse.
Over the course of two days, attendees will learn how to identify when a young person may be struggling. The course will build the confidence to intervene and make a meaningful difference – whilst also promoting positive protective factors and good parenting.
This course is usually valued at £300 per person – and this cost includes a workbook and action plan which you can take away with you and reflect on.
Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind have attracted external funding meaning we can offer this course at just £150 – a massive reduction from the usual price point.
We have also been able to subsidise the cost further for charitable organisations.
