Work, You & Wellbeing is a FREE bespoke course that supports young people aged 16-18 who are not in education, training or employment and are experiencing mental health issues such as stress, anxiety and depression.
What we do
Maidstone & Mid Kent Mind deliver a `Work and Wellbeing lite’ course – a bespoke training course for individuals aged 16-18 who are unemployed and experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and stress. The course runs with between 1 and 3 sessions a week over 6 weeks.
The approach we take is person centred through a series of cognitive behavioural therapy courses, one to one reflective sessions using the `Recovery Action Plan’ and team building activities.
A (CBC) Cognitive Behavioural Coaching course aimed at helping people develop strategies for themselves. The course includes focusing on personal barriers to unemployment and training in particular at: developing self-awareness, understanding anxiety and depression whilst improving self-esteem.
Recovery Action Plan
A tool for supporting and measuring change. These one to one sessions encourage participants to look holistically at their wellbeing, plotting where they feel they are on a scale of 1 to 10 on the 10 following areas over a number of weeks.

- Responsibilities Identity & Self-esteem
Each participant works to a tailored Recovery Action Plan, and is steered to take actions that will allow them measurable improvement in the ten areas.
Team and confidence building skills
To encourage creativity, improve decision making, increase confidence, understand goals, and build trust through developing positive relations. This will be delivered through group activities as part of a varied programme. These activities may include: arts and media, photography, walking/exercise, team games.
Finally included in this course is a work skills section focusing on: importance of first impressions, interview questions and techniques, managing anxiety towards interviews, job/volunteer search, CV writing, communication, planning and organising.
