Taming My Temper Feedback


Mid Kent Mind’s Taming My Temper course is an anger management course designed to equip young people with the skills and the knowledge needed to better manage emotions which may otherwise become overwhelming for them.

Utilising Cognitive Behavioural Coaching, peer interaction support, self-discovery exercises, relaxation techniques and task setting, the course enables participants to:

  • Explore anger in its broadest context and improve awareness.
  • Understand anger and how it can affect people, introducing theory around thoughts, feelings and behaviours, encouraging participants to explore their own emotions
  • Learn about different cognitive styles and how these can have an impact upon life
  • Learn different techniques to improve relaxation
  • Understand emotional responses and how these can be better managed
  • Understand stress and the role it plays in negative emotional responses
  • Explore life-long coping strategies to maintain wellbeing

Taming My Temper Feedback - “Before Taming my Temper I used to fight a lot and I used to swear a lot by accident without thinking. When I went to Taming my Temper we all spoke and took turns. We shared answers we helped each other. We never argued and we got over our fears because of Taming my Temper. The games we played helped us to get along with each other. Now I don’t swear at other people and I have not gotten into another fight and I hope it stays like it for a long time. Now I do not play fight. If I hadn’t of come to Taming my Temper. I would be in serious trouble. I think if other people came I think it would really help them.”
