MHFA Training is nationally acclaimed training which provides individuals with the qualifications and skills necessary to make a real impact in their surrounding environments – whether it be in the workplace, at home, or even when out and about with family.
This training tends to take two main formats – Adult training, and Youth training.
Adult Mental Health First Aid courses look at how you can provide emergency mental health care to adults who may be experiencing mental health crisis. This covers topics such as common mental health problems, and how you can spot the signs and symptoms of someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
Youth Mental Health First Aid courses, in comparison, look at similar issues – but make them much more relatable to young people so that professionals such as teachers and carers, and also parents, are much more empowered to understand mental health in young people. This does also cover particular issues faced by young people – such as the prevalence of digital technology.
All Mental Health First Aid courses can be accessed in either a Lite, or 2-Day format at MMK Mind. The Lite course is a 3-Hour session which looks at some of the basic components of mental health and mental health first aid – and empowers individuals to walk away with a greater knowledge, becoming ‘Mental Health Champions’. Two-Day courses take this further, providing participants with certifications to recognise them as qualified Mental Health First Aiders.
