Maidstone Matters - Showing Maidstone that mental health matters this Christmas.

Mid Kent Mind are pleased to introduce our 2020 Christmas Campaign – Maidstone Matters.

The goal is simple – showing Maidstone that mental health Matters.

Our plan for achieving this is simple – bringing our communities together to tackle the social isolation which many people may face this year, whilst combating that with a positive wellbeing boost in the form of a special Christmas video which brings our communities together and ensures that no one feels alone during this challenging period of time.

For our part, we will be aiming to share information on helplines that people can access and ways that they can maintain positive levels of mental health throughout the winter months – using our platforms as a way to ensure that people have access to the support and advice which is out there.

Where we want you to get involved is simple – provide a positive video which we can include in a Christmas video we will share to bring the community together, and to hopefully help to encourage unity during the festive period.

These videos can be e-mailed to community@midkentmind.org.uk. Please submit your video by the 18th of December.

We ask that there is no profanity, and that you use your best judgement when it comes to the content of the video message, as we reserve the right to exclude any videos which we feel are likely to be harmful.

We have also set up a fundraising page, found here, for those of you who may wish to provide even more support this Christmas.

We also have a range of ways you can fundraise whilst completing your Christmas shopping, too!

We must stress that this is optional – sharing content and encouraging meaningful conversations around mental health and social inclusion is the key goal, and the one which we really want people to rally around.

We were also recently on BBC Radio Kent, talking about this project:

Together, we can make a difference this Christmas. E-Mail community@midkentmind.org.uk to get involved today!
