Mid Kent Mind have been funded by Livewell Kent to provide a range of different services to residents in Maidstone, and also in West Kent more broadly.

The support we are offering is split into Community Activity Groups, which encourage people to engage with activities which will positively benefit their mental health and wellbeing, and also Peer Support Groups, which aim to provide people with a safe space and time where they can share lived experience with each other. 

To access any of these services you must be registered with Livewell Kent.

You can access services easily by completing an online self-referral form with Livewell Kent.


On this page, services which are virtual will be listed in pink. Services which are accessible face-to-face will be listed in purple.

Community Groups


Our Maidstone Community Groups are available to people across the Maidstone area, and can be accessed as a part of a 12-week programme thanks to funding from Livewell Kent.

Singing Group (Starting 18th October 2021) – Virtual Group – Every Other Monday – 2pm – 3pm


A chance to come together and embrace a sing song in a virtual environment. Meet new people, sing along to some of your favourite songs, and leave the group with a smile on your face.

Once you have completed your referral form, you can click this link to access the session every other week.


Baking Group – Virtual Group –  Every Other Thursday – 2pm – 3:30pm


A chance to connect with new people in a virtual capacity and share new recipes with each other. Head out, get the ingredients and learn how to cook something new.

Walking Group (Starting 22nd October 2021) – Face To Face Group At Mote Park – Every Other Friday – 2pm – 3pm


Get outdoors and explore Mote Park! A lovely park on our doorstep, we’ll help you to see Mote Park in a new light as we head around the park and notice some of it’s natural beauty.

Meet by the path next to the steps down to the lake – just by where the old Cafe used to be!


Crafts Group (Starting 25th October 2021) – Face To Face Group At Mid Kent Mind – Every Other Monday – 2pm – 3:30pm


Come along and embrace how getting creative can have benefits for our mental health and wellbeing. From drawing to painting – there are lots of things to try!

Meet at Mid Kent Mind’s Wellbeing Centre (23 College Road, Maidstone, Kent, ME15 6YH).


Mindful Group (Starting 28th October 2021) – Face To Face Group At Mid Kent Mind – Every Other Thursday – 2pm – 3:30pm


This session includes a Quiz to engage your mind with a challenge, as well as a chance to use square breathing techniques to create calmness and allow people to reflect. We will also look at how progressive muscle relaxation can help to reduce stress, and will learn grounding techniques for coping with anxiety.

Meet at Mid Kent Mind’s Wellbeing Centre (23 College Road, Maidstone, Kent, ME15 6YH).


Please note that sessions run for a full 12-week programme with no room for sessions to be moved – meaning that you may miss a session if it needs to be cancelled due to exceptional circumstances, or if the session falls on a Bank Holiday.

Peer Support Groups


Our Peer Support Groups aim to provide a safe environment where people can come and meet others who may have shared life experience. This group aims to promote people sharing how they may positively manage their mental health and wellbeing, with the intention of the group providing support for each other.

Bi-Polar Peer Support Group – Second Thursday of Every Month At Mid Kent Mind


Our Bi-Polar Peer Support Group is designed to provide a safe space and time where people with Bi-Polar can meet other people with shared life experience to share advice and provide guidance on the experiences that others have had. 

Sessions take place on the Second Thursday of every month from 10am till 12pm. Sessions take place at Mid Kent Mind (ME15 6YH).

Sessions take place once a month – but attendees can attend the other once-monthly sessions and also community groups should they wish.


Bi-Polar Peer Support Group – Fourth Thursday of Every Month at Mid Kent Mind


Our Bi-Polar Peer Support Group is designed to provide a safe space and time where people with Bi-Polar can meet other people with shared life experience to share advice and provide guidance on the experiences that others have had. 

Sessions take place on the Fourth Thursday of every month from 10am till 12pm. Sessions take place at Mid Kent Mind (ME15 6YH).

Sessions take place once a month – but attendees can attend the other once-monthly sessions and also community groups should they wish.


Bi-Polar Peer Support Group – Virtual Session For Attendees Across West Kent


Our Bi-Polar Peer Support Group is designed to provide a safe space and time where people with Bi-Polar can meet other people with shared life experience to share advice and provide guidance on the experiences that others have had. 

These sessions take place from 10am till 12pm on the Third Thursday of every month. Once registered, clients can click here to join the group.

Sessions take place once a month – but attendees can attend the other once-monthly sessions and also community groups should they wish.
