Support In Maidstone - Support Funded By Live Well Kent.


Mid Kent Mind will be closed from 5pm on the 27th of May 2022 and will reopen at 9am on the 6th of June 2022. As a team we will be taking a break over the Jubilee week ready to return refreshed and re-energised in June.

Our counselling services will run as normal unless you have been otherwise notified.

Our Cafe Services will be run as normal on the 27th, 28th and 29th of May but will be closed on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of June.

If you need additional support whilst we are closed, Release The Pressure will be available 24/7 on 0800 107 0160. You can also text the word ‘Kent’ to 85258 to access text support.

Mid Kent Mind provide a mixture of face-to-face and virtual peer support groups for people living in the Maidstone area – enabling you to meet new people, take part in fun activities and also share live experience with others!

All of these services are funded by Live Well Kent – meaning you must be registered with them before you seek to access these services.

PLEASE NOTE: Services will not be available on Bank Holidays due to Office Closures. These include the 15th of April, the 18th of April, the 2nd of May, the 2nd of June, the 3rd of June and the 29th of August.


‘Healthy & Home-Made Cooking Sessions’ – Online Sessions (For Canterbury, Ashford, Faversham & Maidstone) – Every Other Thursday from 2pm – 3:30pm


‘Healthy & Home-made’ is live, online, and interactive! Join our cooking sessions and learn how to cook healthy meals from your own home. Your ‘host’ will be 1 of our Wellbeing staff members, cooking from their very own kitchen to help create that ‘home-made’ feel.

Recipes will be pre-arranged ahead of each session (listed on our website) to allow time for participants to shop for ingredients (should they wish to join in ‘live’). These sessions are also supported by a second Wellbeing staff member.

Fortnightly online sessions, held over zoom.

Fun craft activities to help concentrate the mind and give therapeutic benefits. Just bring yourself! Sessions run in 6 week blocks (detailed below). Sessions are held at our Wellbeing Centre (23 College Road, ME15 6YH).

Maidstone ‘Walk and Talk’ Group – Fridays from 10am – 11am


Our Maidstone Walking Group On Tour continues on the 27th of May. Meet us at our building (ME15 6YH) to start the walk. Please arrive for 9:55am ready to leave at 10am. 


Join our 2 Wellbeing staff members in blowing away the cobwebs and enjoy the outdoors in the beautiful setting of Mote Park (ME15 7RN). We all know how exercise is great for the mind, but it can be easier to ‘get out’ with friendly, supportive company.

Sessions run in 6 week blocks (detailed below). Please meet our Wellbeing staff outside the Mote Park café 5 mins early (9.55). Walk commences at 10am.

Get to learn about, and practice, easy mindfulness techniques with 2 of our Wellbeing staff members.

These sessions may involve being outside if participants want to practice techniques that require being outdoors.

Each session is 1.5 hours and takes place from our centre – 23 College Road, Maidstone, ME15 6YH. Sessions run in 6 week blocks (detailed below).

Maidstone Bi-Polar Support Group – Second Monday Of the Month, 2pm – 3:30pm


This monthly peer support group, held at our Centre in Maidstone, is for those with a diagnosis of Bi-polar. The group is facilitated by 2 of our Wellbeing staff members.

Each monthly session is facilitated to involve structured conversation around peer support, with the aim of building confidence and self-esteem.

Sessions are 1.5 hours, held at our centre – 23 College Road, Maidstone, ME15 6YH.

Coping with Life – 3-Week Structured Courses


This course is designed to give clients the tools they need to maintain their wellbeing, by supporting them to develop strategies for dealing with mental health problems which effect their day-to-day life. It utilises Cognitive Behavioural Coaching techniques and self-analysis exercises to enable participants to:

  • Manage anxiety by understanding what anxiety is and how it is triggered, learning skills to help lower anxiety and deal with fight or flight situations effectively.
  • Manage depression by understanding the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that create depression, develop skills to help change this cycle and learn to use coping tools to deal with times when they feel low.
  • Manage stress by identifying the causes and effects of stress and learn practical skills to help manage and reduce stress more effectively.
