HeadStart Kent have funded Youth Mental Health First Aid training and Online Training for any individuals who work with young people across Kent. The training is aimed to better empower those who work with young people with the tools and knowledge to make a positive difference to the mental health of the young people they work with.
Courses focus particularly on spotting the signs of potential ill mental health within a young person, and encourage a proactive response – in the similar way physical first aid would be applied proactively.

We are currently offering two courses for FREE as they are fully funded by HeadStart Kent. Places are extremely limited due to excessive demand.
Youth Mental Health First Aid 1/2 Day | 8th of June 2020 | 1pm
Youth Mental Health First Aid 1/2 Day | 6th of July 2020 | 10am
To qualify for a free space, please send your full name, job role, and the area of Kent where you live or work (i.e. Maidstone, Thanet, etc.) in an email to email@example.com.
People working in education and voluntary sector settings with young people will be prioritised.
If you are unable to obtain a free space, then you are welcome to enrol on our self-funded course, which is available for just £25.
MMK Mind have also developed an online training package which is available to anyone who works with young people across Kent.
