MKM are mindful that rising costs are making things difficult for families, so we are providing a FREE Easter Calligraphy Camp for young people! This is a great opportunity to get creative, make new friends, and do something fun over the Easter Holidays!
Offered as a part of our Reaching Communities Programme thanks to generous funding from The National Lottery, these free sessions will be available to young people between the ages of 9 & 18.
Sessions will be provided over four consecutive days, with young people undertaking different calligraphic activities over the duration of the camp. These sessions aim to provide a safe space where young people can make new friends, explore new creative activities, and do something fun over the holidays.
We will be providing two groups – one for young people between the ages of 9 & 13, and another for young people between the ages of 14 & 18. Both sessions will begin on Monday the 3rd of April and will run until Thursday the 6th of April.
Our current session is available on Monday 3rd April for Young People Aged 11 – 18. The session will run from 2pm – 3:30pm.
Equipment and materials are all provided for the young people taking part. We will use a wide range of things, such as pebbles, keyrings, cards and tote bags. Young people are encouraged to get creative – designing and creating wonderful, colourful pieces of calligraphic artwork with the appropriate support based on their individual needs.
At the end of each session, young people take home what they have created – helping to give them a sense of achievement. Participants who complete the full camp will also receive a Calligraphy Pen at the end of their sessions – helping them to continue to embrace the skills they have learned during their time with us.
Spaces are free-of-charge but are available in a limited capacity, so book now to avoid disappointment!
