We are pleased to share that we have received funding from Kent Sport to work with Olympia Boxing to deliver a twelve-week programme of virtual boxing sessions for young people between the ages of eleven and twenty.
These sessions are available free of charge, in the hopes that they will offer additional support to young people who may be struggling during these difficult times.
This programme has been designed to encourage young people to think about the mental health benefits that physical activity can have. There are lots of studies which show that enhanced physical activity can bring benefits for our wellbeing.
You can read a little bit more about this on the Mind website, by clicking here.
It is hoped that the programme will not only encourage young people to get proactive, but will also provide them with the opportunity to try a new activity – something which may bring longer-term benefits if they find that they enjoy boxing.
To access these free sessions, click on any of the links below. These will take you through to a YouTube video session.
We have worked with Olympia Boxing to ensure that these sessions are suitable for people with additional needs so that they are as accessible as possible.
At the end of each session, we will ask you for feedback to help shape the programme, as we would like to look at ways to continue to explore incorporating physical activity as part of our support programmes in the future.
If you have any additional comments or feedback, then you are welcome to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
This programme has been made possible thanks to generous funding from Kent Sport, and thanks to the support of Olympia Boxing.
