Community Activity Groups A mixture of face-to-face and virtual support.

19th of July 2021 Update: For many of us, today marks a return to a somewhat ‘normal’ way of life – but it is important for us to appreciate that people will adapt to this return of normality at different speeds.

Where possible, we want to ensure that anxieties around COVID are not a barrier to clients accessing support. This is why, despite no longer requiring social distancing, we want to encourage our clients to take the measures which feel safe to them. If you would like to social distance at our services where possible, you are welcome to. You are also more than welcome to wear a mask if this helps you to feel more comfortable accessing support.

We have also set up a gazebo in the College Road paved garden – so if you would like to come along, but feel as though you would rather sit outside whilst taking part, then this is an option, too.

We are keen to see you in the building again – but your safety and your comfort is our top priority. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to e-mail mindhelp@midkentmind.org.uk. We’re hear to support you as best we can during this transition period.

We also want to take this opportunity to assure you that our online provision is not going anywhere. You are not going to be forced back into our building. We’re aware that many of you feel more comfortable continuing to access online support, and we know how important it is to continue to provide these services virtually, too.

This service will be run in a socially-distanced manner in accordance with COVID-19 Guidelines. This means that access to the group will be determined on a rotating bookings system.

There is now no need to book this service. Please note that different people will feel differently about changes to COVID guidelines. We encourage all our clients to show empathy towards others. Service Users are more than welcome to bring face masks and maintain social distancing if this makes them feel more comfortable accessing our services.

Thursdays

Virtual Peer Support & Recovery Group

10am – 11am

Third Thursday of every month – providing an opportunity to seek support and talk to other people who may relate to your experiences.

This group has been designed to get like-minded people into the same room so that they can share their experiences around mental health, and support each other with coping strategies which they may have found useful. The hope is this will also provide an opportunity for people to share services they have accessed and their experience with them.

Click here to join us on the third Thursday of every month.

Virtual Social Group

Join us for a chat and take part in our weekly quiz. We promise it will test your general knowledge!

An in-person group taking part in weekly activities designed to promote Mindfulness and encourage positive wellbeing every week.

Please note that to begin with this group will be run in more of the traditional ‘Social Group’ format – including a quiz and some discussion. Our hope is to implement more Mindfulness elements to the group in the future.
