Service Changes Due To Hot Weather

Service Changes This Week With another heatwave on the records for Kent at the end of this week, there will be some service changes.

Due to the extreme heat levels which are once again forecast to hit the South East this week, the Mid Kent Mind team have decided to make some changes to the services available this week. These are to keep our staff and also our clients safe – and ensure we are avoiding un-necessary exposure during these extreme temperatures.

You can find a full outline of the changes below.

Phone Lines & Contacting Our Team

During this week, most of our team will be working from home to avoid having to travel in the warm weather. This means that you may have difficulty obtaining a response when calling in via our office phone number.

With this in mind, we would recommend contacting us directly via mindhelp@midkentmind.org.uk for the rest of this week. This is a shared inbox which will be operated by our team every day.

Maidstone Community Groups

The group which Warren attends at Fusion will go ahead as planned, as long as Fusion still plan to offer this group this week.

Please keep an eye on the Fusion website for more details.

Our Mindfulness session on Thursday morning will go ahead – with our staff ensuring that the premises downstairs at our building is kept as cool and accessible as possible for the duration of the session.

Our Walking Group will be moved to 9:30am on Friday morning to ensure that we are not out during the hottest part of the day, and to keep clients safe.

Ashford Community Groups

Our Gardening Group in Friday on Ashford will be cancelled as we are unable to run it early enough in the day to avoid the hottest part of the day, and we do not want to put anyone at any undue risk.

Our Walking Group will be moved to 9:30am on Friday morning to ensure that we are not out during the hottest part of the day, and to keep clients safe.

Much like with the last period of hot weather, this is subject to change. Our priority is keeping you and our staff safe – and we will continue to make decisions based on whatever we feel will keep everyone as safe as possible.

If you have any questions about these changes, please don’t hesitate to e-mail us via mindhelp@midkentmind.org.uk and a member of our team will contact you.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you stay cool, and are able to enjoy the sunshine in a safe and healthy way!
