Today, Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind are absolutely delighted to announce that we will be working in partnership with a business, Face Me Fabulous, who work predominantly around makeup, and the positive psychological and wellbeing benefits that that can bring to us.
When we first had the opportunity to meet with Jodie (the founder of Face Me Fabulous), we were overwhelmed by her clear passion for making a difference to the mental health services which are out there to support others. Jodie is no stranger to mental health, and she talks about this incredibly openly in her post announcing this partnership, but we wanted to share a little bit with you below:
“As a sufferer of anxiety and depression that I have battled with throughout my childhood and teens, after being horrifically and almost fatally bullied during my entire school life, leading to me spending time away form home in a residential Mental Health unit at the tender age of 15; I always felt a need to be able to reach out to other people to say that ‘you are enough, and you will be O.K’.”
Just being able to reach out to someone else and reassure them is invaluable – and it is something which we are constantly assessing as we want to be able to support and engage as many people as we can.
We are excited to be working in partnership with Face Me Fabulous, not just because of the fantastic fundraising activities which they have planned, but because working together, we have a real avenue to reach new individuals and make a real and positive impact in the lives of so many. This partnership will provide us with a new and accessible platform which will really allow us to get out in our communities and make a real change.
We strongly believe that together this partnership will help us to make a real difference.
