£17, 593 per annum pro rata

*  Location: Maidstone, Swale, Ashford, Canterbury/Coastal

*  Hours: 30 hours a week over 4 days (Flexibility is important as evening and weekend may be required)

*  A 6 month temporary contract

*  An enhanced DBS check is required for this role and candidate must hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.

Maidstone Mind was established in 1979 and is affiliated to National Mind, a leading mental health charity. We are dedicated to improving the lives of people who are experiencing mental health issues by providing well-respected recovery based community services, high quality information and advice. We actively promote positive wellbeing and have recently launched our Recovery Centre. We provide support to individuals, carers and families through a wide range of diverse services. The Community Support Worker role is a key role and the successful candidate will work closely with the Team, ensuring successful delivery of its key recovery services

You must have at least 12 months experience in the mental health sector or in a similar supporting role. Experience of planning and facilitating groups to achieve social outcomes is essential. This is a proactive role and you must display eagerness to work within teams of diverse people as well as supporting teams of service users and a real passion for producing positive outcomes from your own input and ideas.

The right candidate must have commitment, drive, a ‘can do’ attitude, as well as being conscientious, and possess the ability to identify risks and take action when appropriate. A good through knowledge of the recovery model and wellbeing is required.

It is important that you have good IT skills, including, but not limited to, the ability to use Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

The main role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* To work in partnership with colleagues, families and other professionals in order to deliver, safe, high quality, recovery focused services for the people that we support in all aspects of their lives.

* To demonstrate a positive approach to this in order to ensure that the people we support reach their maximum potential and enjoy active lives in the community.

* To undertake administrative duties as required, to uphold efficient and effective filing systems

* To work effectively as part a team by actively participating in team meetings, supervision, training etc.

* To ensure the needs and aspirations of the people we support are met through effective person centred plans.

* To undertake the role of keyworker in one to one settings

* To plan and facilitate group sessions independently, writing/following lesson plans, to achieve group/individual learning and outcomes

* To produce weekly reports to your Line Manager so that outcomes can be assessed

* To attend external meetings with other organisations and to talk about and represent Mind at these meetings.

You will be reporting to the Operations Manager, who will provide support and will require weekly and monthly reports on activities.
