We are your local mental health support service.
We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. We’re on your doorstep, on the end of a phone or online. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. We’ll listen, give you support and advice, and fight your corner. And we’ll push for a better deal and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem.
As such, we offer support through a variety of groups, courses, and much, much more.
Do you offer a drop in service?
Many people who used to access services at MMK Mind may remember the drop-in service which we used to offer.
This service does not run anymore unfortunately – having been replaced by several different services. Firstly, we have our New To Mind appointments – where a new service user will be provided with a one-on-one session with a Wellbeing Worker to establish what services may work for their needs. Following this, a service user may be asked to complete a Live Well Kent Referral Form – allowing them to access the Community Activity Groups.
If a service user wants to access services before they are registered with MMK Mind, they can access the Hope Cafe if they are experiencing a mental health crisis. This is a drop-in service for people in mental health crisis with no where else to turn.
How can I help someone experiencing a mental health problem?
There are many things you can do. Just being there for the person, and being willing to listen can be a massive step in offering them support. However, moving further from that, there are various ways you can offer them support. Referring them to services like ours, or the Samaritans helpline on 116 123, can be a good start.
